over the moon

Thrilled beyond words — used for genuine, exuberant joy about something that's gone brilliantly.

Literal translation trap

'Sobre la luna' doesn't work. Spanish happiness uses completely different imagery — not moons.

Say it like this

Estamos contentísimos / estamos que no cabemos en nosotros mismos.

'We don't fit inside ourselves' — bursting with joy. More vivid than any moon.

Seventh heaven — the closest spatial metaphor to 'over the moon' in Spanish.

Context

Context
